Zlatan Ibrahimovic had some rather strong words about the current AC Milan squad after last night’s defeat against Udinese at the Dacia Arena.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) focuses on Ibrahimovic after he made history last night by becoming the oldest ever scorer for Milan and also in Serie A thanks to a spot kick that he retook having seen the first effort saved.
The Swede has therefore surpassed the previous record which belonged to Alessandro Costacurta who also scored at the age of 41, but it was not a night that he will remember fondly when it comes to the result as the Rossoneri ended up losing 3-1.
The paper recalls that comments from Ibrahimovic after the game in which he made a rather honest admission about the mentality of the team at the moment and their inconsistencies.
“I’m proud to enter the history of this club even if I prefer to feel young. However, this team has no experience to play as a champion, that’s why ups and downs come,” he said.
“If I’m fine I want to continue, I can do even more. I’ve suffered too much in these 14 months and now I want to get my revenge. I’m fine here, then it depends on what they’re looking for, what idea they have. I’m available and I’m in no hurry. And I respect the decision to exclude me from the Champions League, I wasn’t feeling well.”
He also added a thought on Leao: “He doesn’t seem happy at the moment and has a lot of pressure. But compared to a year ago he is even stronger.”
