Like 10 Things I Hate About You, She's the Man is also loosely based on a Shakespeare play: Twelfth Night.
When her school's girls' soccer team gets cut and she's not allowed to try out for the boys' team, Viola pretends to be her twin brother at a rival school so she can compete against them in a big game. Things get awkward, however, when she begins to catch feelings for her brother's roommate, and also when someone else starts crushing on her fake persona.
