In May, Spotify launched the beta of a new feature called Group Session, which let premium users in the same vicinity share the ability to play, queue, and skip songs while listening together. Now, the streaming platform has announced an update to Group Session that allows you to listen to playlists and podcasts with other users anywhere in the world. You can invite up to four other individuals to join a listening session by going to the Connect tab (found on the bottom left on the mobile interface) and generating a “join” link that can then be sent over messaging services. Every user in the group will have the ability to play, pause, and skip songs, as well as select new songs and add songs to the queue.
Earlier this year, Spotify lifted the long-standing 10,000-song library limit, allowing users to save as many songs as they want. Following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the streaming giant launched the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project.
