Former staffer alleges shocking comments by Trump about Ivanka: Report | Mint - Mint

As reported by Newsweek, in his upcoming book titled "Blowback: A Warning to Save Democracy from the Next Trump," Miles Taylor, a former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, reveals various unsettling incidents that caused discomfort among women working in the Trump administration.

According to the book, several aides alleged that Donald Trump made inappropriate remarks about his daughter Ivanka's physical appearance and even discussed explicit topics like imagining sexual encounters with her, and "what it might be like to have sex with her." These incidents reportedly led to a reprimand from his chief of staff, as stated in the book.

Following recent testimonies from former employees discussing President Trump's history of engaging in inappropriate conduct with women during his time in office, and in light of a New York jury's ruling that held him accountable for sexually assaulting and defaming journalist E. Jean Carroll, Trump, although denying any wrongdoing and appealing the Carroll verdict, may face challenges in his bid for re-election in 2024 due to the alleged mistreatment of women.

"There still are quite a few female leaders from the Trump administration who have held their tongues about the unequal treatment they faced in the administration at best, and the absolute naked sexism they experienced with the hands of Donald Trump at worst," Taylor told Newsweek.

According to Taylor's book, he highlights instances of President Trump openly displaying sexism towards women within his administration, ranging from lower-ranking aides to cabinet secretaries. Taylor recounts personal experiences of witnessing this behaviour during meetings involving Trump and Kirstjen Nielsen, who served as the Secretary of homeland security from 2017 to 2019.

"When we were with him, Kirstjen did her best to ignore the president's inappropriate behaviour," Taylor writes in his book. "He called her 'sweetie' and 'honey,' and critiqued her makeup and outfits."

Taylor further recollected an incident where Kellyanne Conway, who held the position of senior counsellor, described Trump as a "misogynistic bully" following a meeting where he had harshly criticized several female leaders within the administration. Newsweek reported citing sources that during this meeting in March 2019, Trump had expressed his frustration regarding border-related matters and directed his anger towards Kirstjen Nielsen and other members of the White House staff.

A source from Kellyanne Conway's office refuted the claim that she referred to Trump as a "misogynistic bully," calling it a lie and suggesting that Miles Taylor, the author, was seeking attention. In addition, Taylor recounted an incident where Trump, during an Oval Office meeting, mistakenly believed he saw Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was serving as the White House press secretary at the time, in the room adjacent to the Oval Office.

During the incident, it was discovered that the person Trump saw outside the Oval Office was one of his personal assistants and not Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Taylor claims that Trump responded with a casual "Whoops" and remarked, "I was going to say, 'Man, Sarah, you've lost a lot of weight!'" The book also alleges that Trump made inappropriate and lewd comments about his own daughter.

"Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump's breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter," Taylor writes.

According to Taylor, he expresses his belief that Trump has not undergone any significant change and is currently leading the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Taylor also expresses concern that if Trump were to secure a second term, the potential consequences could be even more severe than his previous tenure as president.
"He's a pervert, he's difficult to deal with," the source told Newsweek. "This is still the same man and, incredibly, we're considering electing him to the presidency again."

In 2018, Taylor wrote a strongly critical op-ed in The New York Times titled "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration," which he published under the pseudonym "Anonymous." In 2020, he revealed himself as the author while actively campaigning against Trump's re-election. Currently, Taylor is associated with the centrist Forward Party as a member.
