Southern California’s “cowpunksurfabilly” band The Ziggens has released its long-awaited 19 track album, “Oregon,” which coincides with the group’s 30-year anniversary.
Throughout the years, the band has maintained its original lineup and continued to tour, while also working on various side projects such as bassist Jon Poutney’s supergroup Volcano with Meat Puppets frontman Curt Kirkwood, Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh and Sublime soundman Michael Happoldt, and Ziggens frontman Bert Susanka’s children’s music act Jelly of the Month Club (also with Gaugh).
The Ziggens’ shows feature lots of harmony singing and high-volume fun. The group’s music combines cowpunk, surf, rockabilly, punk, ska and country. Some of the group’s other songs include “Big Salty Tears,” “Outside” and “Surf’s Up.”
